WE MADE IT!

On Sunday, June 17th, I arrived in Huntsville, Alabama for the "Advanced Teacher Program" sponsored by Honeywell. 35 teachers representing countries from around the world will be together through June 29, to learn about NASA and the Space Program and how to integrate this knowledge into our classrooms!

Through out the day on Sunday teachers arrived from as far as Prague, Honduras, India and a vast majority of the 50 states. Sunday was a day designated to reunite with old friends and share stories of the past year.

Monday brought us our first guest speaker, "Hoot" Gibson. Hoot has been in the NASA program since 1978. He has flown five missions: STS 41-B, STS 61-C, STS 27, STS 47, and STS 71. He shared with us his early years in the Navy, why he decided to join the NASA team and the many roles he has had while at NASA. It was inspiring to listen to his Navy stories of yesterday and his NASA stories of today and the importance and advancement of countries working together in positve collaboration for the advancement of all humans.
